Frequently Asked Questions

Q. At what age can my son/daughter start dancing?

A: There is no set age as every child is different but approximately 2 years of age is a good time to start thinking about Dance classes. If, after, trying a class, your child does not take to it right away, don't be disheartened, try them again in a couple of months time, it may have have just been too soon.

Q. How do we pay for classes?

A. Classes are generally paid for on an invoice basis every half term. Invoices will be given prior to the start of a term and should be paid within 2 weeks of the term start date. Certain classes may be paid for on a weekly basis, contact us for more information.

Q. Do you give school workshops?

A. Yes. Contact us for prices and more information.

 Q. Do you put on shows?

A. We generally put on our own school show once a year. We also take part in the "Hits" shows at Blackpool Opera House twice a year. All students are invited to take part in these shows.

Q. What qualifications can children/students achieve?

A. We work towards the IDTA qualifications. Students can work through the grade and medal syllabi and we have a 100% pass rate in these examinations. However, we appreciate that not all children wish to take exams and so these are not compulsory. For us at The Dance Academy Dance is meant to be for enjoyment and personal development as well as giving children good foundations for personal and social skills.
